Founder of KV Nutrition

Hi! My name is Karen and I officially became a registered dietitian in 2012. In my years as a nutrition professional, I have worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient medical clinics, public health nutrition programs, and community health and wellness events across Philadelphia and the surrounding counties. As time goes by, my passion for nutrition only grows stronger which is what brought me to develop my private practice. These days, nutrition and how it relates to health is trendy and it seems that wherever we go, we are surrounded by a non-stop stream of health messages. Although there may be some truth to these messages, the information provided is not always accurate. In fact, in some cases, the information might even be damaging to our health. 

My mission is for everyone to have access to nutrition information that is based on reliable, well-conducted research and is:

  • easy to understand

  • practical 

  • respectful of traditional and cultural customs 

  • considerate of an individual's personal situation and preferences 

To provide the best nutritional care, I combine my strong educational background, including a BS in Nutrition and Dietetics and an MS in Applied Nutrition, with the lessons I have learned from my personal health journey. I specialize in providing  personalized medical nutrition therapy for individuals touched by cancer, heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, digestive disorders, kidney disease, food sensitivities/allergies, and much more. Additionally, I provide weight management nutrition counseling  through intuitive eating coaching and a compassionate, food-first approach so that clients can experience lasting results.
